It is a polymeric core/shell particles with volatile hydrocarbon encapsulated by a thermoplastic shell
with particle size ranging 10-50µm. When heated to Tg of the shell, the thermoplastic shell softens,
the hydrocarbon inside the shell gasifies and expands, and the volume of the microspheres increases
by tens of and up to hundreds of times, thus achieving a foaming effect. By rationally designing shell wall,
optimizing of the synthesis process and foaming agent formula, thermal expandable microspheres are
obtained with various foaming temperatures and foaming ratios.
Applications:
Three-dimensional effect: ink printing, drawing, braille embossing, wallpaper, fabric, etc.
Anti-slip additives: carpet, cardboard, synthetic fiber products, etc.
